Basic Lessons, Guitar Lessons | Leave a Comment | Share This

Today I am going to start the series of Guitar Lessons and if you are a newbie then you have reached the right place as in this lesson we are going to learn different parts of Guitar and what the use is. I have created the picture below to explain it better however I will be posting video lessons too for better and interactive lessons. I will be sharing all my knowledge and experience about Guitar Notes, Scales, Strumming, Modes, Chords and many much more but that is a bit technical so first we need to know how guitar works. Here we go!!!

Introduction to Guitar

In the above picture we have a Guitar and you will find the explanation below about the different parts of the guitar.

1. Tuning keys - Tuning key is the part of Guitar and this is used to tighten or loosen the string to tune the Guitar, I will be uploading an online Guitar tuner very soon so stay updated.

2. Bridges - Bridges are used to hold the strings on the Guitar. We have two bridges in the Guitar. First bridge is on the body of the Guitar and second bridge is on the starting point of fret board, check out number 2 in the picture above.

3. Fret - Frets are used to individuate the tone of the notes. We can get the Guitar without fret as well but to play that we should recognize the tone of different notes.

4. Body - Body of the Guitar is used to originate the echo of the sound produced by the vibrations of the strings.

5. Sound Hole - Sound Hole is the hole in the Guitar from where we hear the sound. Some Guitars have cuts in the body to dispense the sound; the sound actually differs depending on the sound-hole shape and width of the Body.

6. Strings - When we strike the string it vibrates and the sound goes in the body to originate the echo and we hear that enchanting sound. Normally we have Guitars with six strings but people play twelve string Guitars as well. Base Guitars have only four strings. It depends on the different categories of the Guitars like Base Guitars, Western Classical Guitars, Spanish Guitars etc.

7. Plectrum - Plectrum is used to strike the string to produce the sound however we can use our fingers too but that depends on the type of music and strings you are playing.
